Mountain and Sea

Residential Apartment

This design project presents the entire space with grey-toned cultural colors, adding a soft texture while demonstrating harmony and warmth. The stories behind the spatial vocabularies are slowly depicted via the design planning and the visual presentation. For the planning, the comprehensive modern electrical arrangement allowed the space to be integrated with accuracy to create an eco-friendly green life, reducing the consumption of energy, not merely taking into consideration the climate and environment, but further grasping onto the core value of sustainability.

This design project, named Mountain and Sea, is a residential apartment created by Te Yu Liu and Hui Ching Chang. It stands out with its unique use of grey-toned cultural colors, creating a space that exudes harmony and warmth. The design planning and visual presentation of the apartment tell stories that unfold gradually, capturing the essence of the space.

One of the key strengths of this design is its comprehensive modern electrical arrangement, which allows for accurate integration and creates an eco-friendly green life. The focus on sustainability goes beyond considering the climate and environment, emphasizing the core value of reducing energy consumption.

The material applications in Mountain and Sea contribute to its distinct character. Vintage stones and pale grey oak mellow wood patterns are used to add texture and create a sense of harmony. The vague matte titanium-plated stainless-steel ceiling and walls add a graduated sense of beauty, while the grey rustic mirrors stack to form an extended visual effect.

The living room is a prime example of the design's realization. Natural lighting from three sides is guided indoors by an organ curtain, sculpting a strong rugged design sentiment along the vintage television wall and the sofa chair. The dining room features a large E15 original wood dining table, complemented by the Vork Turkish blue cupboard and the greyish-black cabinet, injecting mellow and elegant temperament into the public space.

The kitchen in Mountain and Sea presents a transparent and bright boutique-quality. Greyish blue subway tiles and pale grey fancy glazed tiles are paired with a hairline stainless steel cabinet, reflecting light and enlarging the visual effect of the space. The master bedroom is designed in an extremely simple grey tone, with delicateness and coarseness blending seamlessly. The walls are painted in grey coating with meticulously hand-brushed patterns, showcasing the craftsman's unique handmade touch.

Mountain and Sea has received recognition for its exceptional design. It was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2020 in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This award is given to well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements. The design is respected for integrating industry best practices and competent technical characteristics, contributing to a better world and providing fulfillment and positive feelings.
